The Wonder Wagon
Whilst the Cargo Cabin sailed the seas, The Wonder Wagon roamed the roads a little closer to home. The wagon trailer was originally part of the fleet at the local John Summer’s Steel works here in Flintshire but it has been lovingly converted into a boutique retreat by our family friend Aled.
Brand new for 2021, we have worked with the fabulous sustainable interiors brand, West Elm. Our brief to the West Elm Design Crew was simple, we wanted our guests to switch off in a deeper way and connect with the countryside around them. We talked relaxed tones and natural materials and boy, did West Elm deliver!
The open plan layout has a contemporary kitchen and diner area with a gas oven, gas hob, fridge freezer and sink. If you fancy cooking, we have provided all the pots, pans and crockery you could possibly need as well as cooking oil, salt, pepper and essential tea & coffee.
The dining area has a table and chairs for two, perfect for a romantic supper and there is a large squishy sofa to relax on too. The double French doors open out on to the decking with breath-taking views of Moel Famau and the farm.
The Wonder Wagon has a cosy bedroom, separate from the main space with a double bed and storage again with views out on to the farm.
On the practicalities side, this clever cabin has its own ensuite, with shower & flushing toilet, heating (with easy to control thermostat) parking and WiFi.
The Wonder Wagon
The Wonder Wagon comes complete with its own decked terrace with outdoor seating and BBQ area. The star of the show however is our outdoor tub from the wonderful people at Easy Bathrooms complete with bubble bath ready for you to soak and enjoy. The Wagon is surrounded by our farmyard friends – there’s always something to see! If you’d like to meet some of our animals and have a farm tour just ask, we’d love to show you around.
**Please note there are several steps up to the decking area.
Although relaxing is encouraged, there is plenty to get out to see and do should the mood take you. With the nearest pub, the White Horse Inn, serving up food and ales just a mile away, that could be a great place to start (plus any guests get a 10% discount from their food bill – bonus).
Further afield, the stunning North Wales coastline is just 30 minutes away and Snowdon National Park is under an hour away. And for those wanting to indulge in a bit of retail therapy, then the pretty town of Chester is 30 minutes from your door.
