A little piece of local history, reimagined for two.

The Wonder Wagon once roamed the roads right here in the Clwydian Range. Originally part of the fleet at the local John Summers Steelworks in Flintshire, the wagon trailer has been lovingly transformed into a unique boutique retreat just for two.

For the interiors, we worked with the fabulous sustainable interiors brand West Elm. Our brief to the West Elm Design Crew was simple: we wanted our guests to switch off, slow down and feel connected to the countryside around them. We talked relaxed tones, natural materials and understated luxury – and they certainly delivered.

Inside, the open-plan living space has a contemporary kitchen and dining area, complete with oven, induction hob, fridge-freezer and sink. If you fancy cooking, you’ll find all the pots, pans and crockery you need, along with cooking oil, salt, pepper and essential tea and coffee.

There’s a dining table for two, perfect for a romantic supper, and a large squishy sofa for curling up and relaxing afterwards. Throw open the French doors and step onto your private decking, with beautiful views across the farm towards Moel Famau.

The cosy bedroom sits separately from the main living space, with a double bed, storage and yet more lovely views out across the farm.

And when it’s time to really switch off, step outside and sink into your own private outdoor soaking tub — the perfect spot to relax beneath the North Wales skies and watch life on the farm go by.

You’ll also have your own ensuite shower room with flushing toilet, easy-to-control heating, WiFi and parking.

The Wonder Wagon sleeps two adults. Trelan Farm is an adults-only, pet-free retreat.

The Wonder Wagon comes complete with its own decked terrace with outdoor seating and BBQ area for use with disposable BBQs (avaliable to purchase on site).

The star of the show however is our outdoor tub from the wonderful people at Easy Bathrooms complete with bubble bath ready for you to soak and enjoy. The Wagon is surrounded by our farmyard friends – there’s always something to see!

Nearby

Although relaxing is encouraged, there is plenty to get out to see and do should the mood take you. With the nearest pub, the White Horse Inn, serving up food and ales just a mile away, that could be a great place to start.

Further afield, the stunning North Wales coastline is just 30 minutes away and Snowdonia/Eryri National Park is under an hour away. And for those wanting to indulge in a bit of retail therapy, then the pretty town of Chester is 30 minutes from your door.

Just Wow! Our first trip to Trelan Farm was better than we could have imagined. The Wonder Wagon had every thing we needed for our stay. Its cosy, clean and the picturesque setting just is the icing on the cake. A lovely long walk was had up to Moel Famau finished off with a visit to the lovely local pub The White Horse who served the most delicious homemade meals – well worth a visit! .A wonderful place to spend a weekend away! Myself (Emma) and Alex stayed in the Wonder Wagon over New Year 2022 and we couldn’t think of a better place to have brought in the New Year. We did two nights in the Wonder Wagon and loved it that much that we ended up staying an extra night in the Cargo Cabin because we didn’t want to leave! Both Cabins are very very clean and have everything that you will need during your stay, it is the perfect place to spend a cosy evening inside or even outside in a hot bath! There is plenty to do in the area whether it is short walk into the local village to the pub or some of the surrounding walks. The hosts are a lovely family and so accommodating. We loved our stay here and highly recommend to everyone. We will definitely be back – thank you! Alex, January 2026.
